Cradle of Filth December 12, 2004 Review written by THINGY

-----HIMSA started the show and I have never heard of them before and they flew through a 30 minute set and they weren't to bad, heavy metal for sure and a good start to the show. Nothing special but they weren't annoying either and thats a good sign. -----BLEEDING THROUGH were next and not sure I would call them metal more like hardcore and well they didn't gain a fan here. The singer was jumping around the stage like a jack ass and screaming every single word. The band just played fast and loud constantly which could be a good thing but they didn't show much ability to change, no solos no riffs that stood out just blasting it out. They had a female keyboardist that looked hot from a distance. I have to say never seen a keyboard player banging there head while the played before. LOL. This band shouldn't even of been on this bill. -----ARCH ENEMY--now were talking. This concert should of just been them and Cradle and it would of been a lot better. Not fair to have them only play a short set, they deserve a lot longer time. They crushed through there set and were just awesome. I gained a new found respect for lead singer Angela Gossow and her total intensity on stage and controlling the crowd with her powerful vocal display. They did a song (We Will Rise) in tribute to Dimebag which was very classy of them to do, they finished off with the blood curdling RAVENOUS. Awesome show and would love to see more of them. Whole band was smoking and guitarists are just awesome. ---Cradle of Filth--First time for seeing them too and they put on a great show. The black metal was flowing right through the blood stream. Highlight for me being HER GHOST IN THE FOG, my personal fav Cradle song. Whole set was great but would of liked to have heard FILTHY LITTLE SECRET from the new cd but can't please everyone. But overall they were great and put on a great show. They also did a song as tribute to Dimebag as all REAL metal bands would do shortly after that happened. Would of been nice if they played longer as well. I dislike 4 band or more concerts. Leave more time for the bands people want to see and let these new bands make it on there own. But hey just my opinion. Overall a good show. After the show the weather was nice so I guess Cradle sent all the black clouds away. ;-) |
