Metal Pit : Greetings to you Simone and welcome to the Metal pit.
Simone: Thanks for
having me.
Metal Pit : "Violentkor",is that your nickname and where
did it come from?
That is a nickname...I earned every letter! LOL.
Actually I was reading about black holes, they were describing the center of
a black hole as a "violent core". I though that was a cool name so I took it and
added my twist to it.
Metal Pit : You play guitar for the band
Lofat,can you tell us how you hooked up with them?
Lofat has been a band
for a looooooong time. It was started by myself and the drummer. I put up an ad
at a local music store looking for a gig and the drummer happened to work at
that music store.
Metal Pit : How would you describe
Lofat's music to potential fans?
Metal!
Metal Pit : Is the band
close to releasing it's first demo soon?

Metal Pit : Is this the first band you have played
with?
Nope..this is actually the 3rd band I've been in.
Metal Pit :
Have you had a chance to play many live shows and if so what sets your band
apart from other bands when playing live?
We have toured the east coast! I
think performance plays a big part in playin live. I think that sets us apart
from most bands. We def. dont just stand there and play our
instruments.
Metal Pit : What is the Metal scene like in your
hometown?
From what I hear...the same as it is in most cities in the US.
lol.Has its ups and downs...its positives and negatives.
Metal Pit : Are
there any clubs that you have played that are your favorites?
I had alotta
fun at the NorVa in Norfolk, Va.
Metal Pit : You have a very
interesting style of guitar playing,at what age did you start to play?
I got
my first guitar at age 5 but wasnt really into it until about age
11.
Metal Pit : Are you self - taught?
I took classical guitar lessons
for a year,I am mostly self taught.
Metal Pit : What kind of gear do
you use and why?
I use BC Rich Custom 7 string Beasts and Mesa Boogie gear.
The combo of that gear is amazing!
Metal Pit : What band or musicians
inspired you to play guitar in a Metal band?
First influences of guitar was my
Aunt June and a friend that was into metal...he happened to show me my first
power chord! LOL. After that my influences were Randy Rhoads, James Hetfield.
Metal Pit : If I looked in your car right now,what cd's would I
find?
Suicidal Tendencies, Arch Enemy.
Metal Pit : If you and Lofat
had the chance to share the stage for a tour with any other band,who would it be
and why?
Suicidal Tendencies! Cuz they rule!
Metal Pit : Women in hard
rock and Metal seem to be getting more prominent every day,what is your opinion
of women in the scene today?
I think its cool.
Metal Pit : I am seeing
more and more women picking up instruments as well instead of just singing,why
do you think it has taken so long for women to take their rightful place amongst
their male counterparts as musicians?
Let me answer that question with the
story of my name "Simone": Before Lofat, I was looking for a band...putting ads
up at local music stores with my first name (Simone is my middle name)...no
calls. SO, I replaced the ad with the EXACT same ad with my MIDDLE name (Simone)
and had 3 calls before I got home that same day.....
Metal Pit : Does
there seem to be more females at your shows or is it still mostly males?
Its
pretty balanced.
Metal Pit : Do you see yourself as a role model for
young women who may want to follow in your footsteps and if so what advice would
you give them?
Ive had a lot of little girls come up to me all "wowed out"
LOL! SO yeah.
Metal Pit : When you are not wailing on the guitar in
Lofat,what other kinds of things do you enjoy doing?
I ride motorcycles,
rebuild classic cars (currently rebuilding a 1964 Pontiac Catalina) and also do
graphics.
Metal Pit : What does the near future hold for the band,any
plans for a full length cd and tour?
absolutely!
