SOULFLY

ENSLAVED

2012                                                     REVIEW BY  Georgina

SOULFLY, the band led by the legendary Max Cavalera has finished their 8th album and their  heaviest to date on Roadrunner Records . At the same time we have had former members Bobby Burns (bass) and Joe Nunez (drums) giving way to Tony Campos (Static X, Ministry) and David Kinkade (Borknagar) . Enslaved is an album themed on enslavement around the globe .This is the best album Soulfly have ever come up with, and without any disrespect towards former members, I also think this is the strongest Soulfly line-up to date . “Enslaved” is the kind of album I’ve been waiting for from a Max Cavalera-fronted band for a number of years now, and it has finally materialized for me . I’m sure die hard fans will feel the same way once they get to listen to this cd . While some people still think of Soulfly as a nu-metal band they haven’t even made an attempt to listen to their last few albums. Long gone are the days when Soulfly were actually a nu-metal band if your a Slayer fan or Sepultura fan you'll dig this cd .“Enslaved” presents a style of music that will find "widespread headbanging joy" among fans of Slayer, early Sepultura and the likes thereof....
